A TRUE SUCCESS STORY 👏🏼

I've lost 12 stone 10 pounds altogether since 1st March 2019. I lost 7 stone in the first year then another 3 stone in the 2nd year.

WHAT MADE YOU GET STARTED??

The reason I put all the weight on was because of an overactive thyroid condition and being over medicated which made me sluggish and tired all the time and I was put on high dose steroids (I am aware I put the weight on because I was overeating but the hunger pains from the steroids was unbearable and food was all I had to make me feel better).

Part of my condition meant I needed eye surgery on both eyes seperately and had to be put under general anaesthetic to have it. They did one surgery at my highest weight in 2018 and I struggled to come round after surgery. I also couldn't even walk around the block as I was so heavy and had back pains, knee pains etc but the main thing was I felt guilty I wasn't parenting my kids.

To be honest I hit rock bottom I wasn't sleeping, I was depressed and crying most days. My sister put me in touch with Janet Silverwood and as of 1st March 2019 I saw her once a week with nutrition and zoom classes. I was with her for a year then was with her on zoom through covid and for another 6 months online.

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART OF THE JOURNEY??

The hardest thing was keeping going when you put a couple of pounds on and keeping motivated but I just had to remember where I was and how hard it was to function and making damn sure I didn't go back there. My family and friends were a massive encouragement and I would send my weekly weigh in to them religiously, accountability for me was key without that I'd have fallen 'off the wagon' many many times.

YOU'VE BEEN AT BA FITNESS FOR 15 MONTHS NOW. HOW DO YOU FEEL THAT HAS GONE & WHAT HAVE YOU GAINED FROM IT?

Starting at BA in December 2021 was a defining moment for me, I didn't know my full potential (I'd been goblet squatting with 7kg 🙈 now 42.5kg for 1 example) till you guys put a heavy weight in my hand and surprisingly I could lift it and it felt good, it was also my first time in a gym environment. I feel so strong now and so much fitter than I've ever felt in my whole life. I had stayed the same weight for a while with no loss and needed to switch it up and since joining I've lost another 1st 7lb.

WHAT ARE YOU GOALS FOR THE FUTURE?

Even though I've reached a point where I'm maintaining at the moment and actually really happy in all aspects of life I'm always looking to get the next PB and better myself.

I'd like to get another 5 kg off in the next 6 weeks, I know I can maintain pretty well and just want that bit more wiggle room 💁🏻‍♀️😁 then I'll set some more goals!

There are no limitations I feel like I can do anything 😊
